The scope comprised the of the replacement of the HVAC unit immediately. Furthermore, a protective add-on needed to be installed to protect the flow of air intake at the onsite generator room.
EQUIPMENT & OPERATION
Due to the HVAC unit and the “add-on” being relatively light in weight (450 kg and 285 kg)
Conbit installed a light rigging equipment (LRE) crane made of trusses.
All components used in the assembly weighed less than 20 kg so therefore, all the equipment could be carried by hand to the location in the crane. This method required less cost due to little shipping, as all components weighed around 20kgs –Which resulted in a short installation time.
Furthermore, manually operated chain hoists to luff and to lift the load to and from the lay-down area was used -this meant that operations were independent from any power requirements on the platform and EX compliant.
During the operation, Conbit worked closely together with Fano Kran. This cooperation resulted in a smooth offshore operation. For example, when small modifications to the air duct were required, short communication lines resulted in quickly fixing the problem.
