Carigali Hess inspected the flare system on the CKP Platform of the Cakerawala Gas Field. They concluded that the wind shrouds of the installed flare tips needed replacement. Conbit’s unique lifting expertise and extensive flare works experience paved the way for Carigali Hess to award the contract to them.
The project included the replacement of two wind shrouds weighing 250 kg each and repairing and reinforcing one wind shroud weighing 800 kg. The team also performed some flare tip maintenance activities.
Conbit applied one of its own temporary modular lifting solutions for this project, providing the following equipment:
• Lightweight lift booms (Conbit SL340 – 4m and Conbit SL340 – 6m)
• Lift winch and a service winch
• Full set of certified rigging materials and spare materials
• Welding equipment
The crew consisted of 6 people, including a team leader, rope access (IRATA level 3 & 1) technicians, and two welders. CR Asia was part of the offshore crew.
Conbit delivered the lifting engineering, crew, and lifting equipment. They also provided the offshore execution of the wind shroud replacement and flare tip maintenance works. Maintenance activities during a shutdown are always critical and need to be well prepared and effectively managed on a day-to-day basis.
Again, Conbit’s extensive experience with these projects contributed to the successful execution, done safely and on schedule.
