As part of the preparation process, a site visit was vital to perform the necessary surveys. This was performed to understand how Conbit could get the equipment in position, comprising a container and winch) and how the winch could be installed.

Conbit installed the winch between the two decks and a davit crane on top of the platform.

After performing the rigging, the crane was used to lower the existing flare tip onto the platform and lift the new flare tip into position.

There was limited space on the platform where the exchange needed to take place so accuracy and planning were critical to the project’s success.

Conbit had to rig the winch into place and installed the winch cable so it didn’t touch any of the surrounding pipelines.
