Conbit was tasked with performing the flare tip replacement at the Bongkot North gas field, located 100km offshore in the Gulf of Thailand.

Working in partnership with CR Asia, Conbit developed a solution to overcome particular challenges. The winch had to be installed between two decks and there was limited space to store the old and new flare tip on the same deck.

Conbit had to ensure a trained team of specialised riggers were in place and that planning was optimised to overcome these obstacles in advance. Preparation was also key to negotiating the multiple pipelines surrounding the deck.
